Seit dem Album Horses (1975) eine Ikone der Punk-, Wave- und Frauenbewegung. 2008 zeigte Patti Smith ihr künstlerisches Werk in Paris. 2007 wurde Patti Smith in die Rock´n´Roll Hall of Fame aufgenommen. Patti Smith hat zwei Kinder und lebt in New York City.
