Reduplication has become a core aspect in determining the nature the phonology and Morphology interface in human language. The languages usually studied are drawn from the romance group. Hence this limits the explanatory power of most theoretical models in linguistics. This book focuses on Ekegusii reduplication has not received explanatory attention so far.The study focuses on morphological reduplication that occurs in a given phonological domain, periodically motivated reduplication. Little is known on the constraints that determine the shape, the positioning of the reduplicant in relation to the base, the mechanisms of copying and the size of the reduplicated forms in Ekegusii. This study addresses issues that are significant to current morphological and phonological theory by using Optimality Theory and its sub - theories as it explores the behavior of reduplication in Ekegusii. The work will be of interest to linguists and computational experts who work on developing software for analysing human language.
