This book describes in details most of the fuzzy clustering algorithms for image segmentation as segmentation is of paramount importance and a challenging task in computer vision and image processing. It plays a fundamental role in many diverse applications including medical imaging, airport identification, automatic robotic assembly and video coding. Fuzzy clustering strategies are especially popular and attractive in image segmentation applications because of their sound mathematical basis and ability to consider particular low-level feature information. The mathematical modelling for all the algorithms are also detailed in this book that is very much helpful for the reader to gather knowledge in deeply in this field. Also, robust quantitative and qualitative performance analysis is provided for all the algorithms together with comparisons with each other.

Dr. Ameer Ali was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1977. He completed his B. Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering in 2001 and PhD in IT in 2006, Australia. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, East West University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has more than 32 published articles.
