Over the last few years, the advances in electronics, telecommunications and computer science have enabled a new technology - wireless sensor network (WSN). The potential applications of WSN technology are abundant in the fields of healthcare, environmental monitoring, industrial sensing, etc. Although WSN is a promising technology, there is still a great deal of additional research required before it finally becomes a mature technology. This book concentrates on three factors which are holding back the development of WSNs. Firstly, there is a lack of network traffic analysis & modeling for WSNs. Secondly, network optimization for WSNs needs more investigation. Thirdly, the development of anomaly detection techniques for WSNs remains a seldom touched area. Among themselves, the research results regarding network traffic analysis & modeling for WSNs can be beneficial to the research regarding network optimization and anomaly detection for WSNs. This book should be especially useful to researchers working on the related areas of WSNs. This book can also be used as a reference book by professionals interested in developing a working WSN and students interested in studying WSNs.
