In social sciences, research provides us an exciting understanding of mysterious and complex psychological, sociological and cultural problems, such as, impact of gender stereotyping on women in executive roles; role of genes in depression; impact of T.V. violence on aggressive behavior in children and role of political instability in terrorism or extremism etc. I think every society across the globe depends upon indigenous research projects for answers to difficult questions ranging from AIDS/HIV to terrorism and how to solve these problems? The practical gains from research to answer such challenging questions are too numerous to be listed here. This book aims to promote understanding of how to move from idea to action; how to conduct and design a high quality research in social sciences while adhering to code of ethics for research on human and animal subjects; how to analyze data statistically; how to present results in a compelling manner and draw conclusions/inferences from the empirical data.
