This book focuses on the problem of poverty globally, within a multi-dimensional context, with specific interest on its prevalence in Nigeria, especially the Northern region and the several attempts by successive Governments to alleviate, reduce and subsequently eradicate poverty through various programmes and strategies at various tiers of Government. Iliyasu Mohammed BIU holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) Degree in Public Administration and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) Degree both from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He teaches Public Administration, Public Enterprise Management, Local Government Studies and Human Resource Management at the Gombe State University, Gombe, Nigeria.
