African Americans marriages are deterioration at an all time high. Single African American women are facing serious challenges in getting married and staying married. The likelihood of an African American woman ever getting married has decreased tremendously. It goes without saying that African American male and female interpersonal relationships are at a crisis stage. This book examines what influence television media portrayals of African American males and females have on their inter- personal relationships. The evidence shows that viewing television programs and videos may have an effect on how African Americans perceive and relate to each other. These perceptions are examined to explore how these portrayals on television affect African American relationships. This book draws conclusion about the general repercussions of these portrayals.
