This book: Ewart Scott Grogan and Politics of Railway Development in Kenya: 1901 - 1930; discusses how development of infrastructure is an important aspect of development. It shows how most works on economic history often omit the role of infrastructure, and its significance in determining the distribution of goods and services. The book demonstrates the role played by power brokers in diverting public funds to finance projects that would benefit them directly at the expense of economically viable regions.
