This book primarily describes the basic and applied aspects of programmable freezing and computer automated analysis of bovine semen. It gives a detailed account of the basic components and functions of CASA, including microscopy, videography and image analysis. Explanations on standardization of CASA with respect to instrument settings, sample preparation, etc have been dealt in detail along with a brief overview of different commercially available CASA systems in the market. The book also covers extensively on the importance of computer automated semen analysis in bovine andrological research. Two case studies, each with respect to the use of programmable freezer and CASA in bovine semen studies have been included for the benefit of readers.
