The Indian Higher Education System is facing multitude of challenges. There is an immediate need to create a field of Higher Education in India that focuses on addressing the challenges of the Indian Higher Education System and preparing effective leaders for managing educational institutions. The role of academic leaders will recognize inter relations among the social, political, technological and economic forces of society. Thus, the work of educational leaders has also become more complex, much less predictable, less structured and more conflict laden. Due to entry of private universities corporate sectors too are coming to the State for hiring professionals. The biggest challenge for them is getting the right mix of faculty and infrastructure at affordable cost. The new Higher Education Bill NCHER 2010, before the Parliament will certainly ensure the autonomy of the universities in India when passed. The Public Private Partnership will be helpful in introducing innovative and integrated programs. The book will be useful for all those who are connected with the Higher Education System and the Academic professionals world over.

Dr.Teenna Sawhney(M.A Eng Lit,M.A.History,B.Ed,CBA-Canada)is a Faculty with ICFAI University. She has done Ph.D on "Higher Education System In India-A Critical Analysis".
