One of the ideas that has not been given due attention in language teaching history is the effect of word-order on comprehensibility of sentences. Thematization which is a way of word-order change is believed to affect the performance of individuals in comprehending sentences. English language which allows various forms of word order change has turned out not to be comprehended by some students due to change from unmarked to marked forms.
