India is a land of diverse communities with their diverse castes, cultures, religious groups, literatures and arts. Education in ancient India always played a vital role in the upliftment of the society. Swami Vivekananda lit the torch of education with the light of spiritualism and emphasized on man-making, character-making and personality-making philosophy. In the view of Swami Vivekananda education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man by which strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded, and one can stand on one´s own feet that only comes from spiritual activities, meditation, and devotion and gathering knowledge through experiences. He also told that knowledge is inherent in man, so no one can teach anybody but suggest one to understand and realize the things from one´s own soul. He also realized that to build up a strong nation, moral and spiritual welfare and upliftment of humanity is necessary irrespective of castes, religions, creed and nationality and such nation will lead the world towards peace and harmony.
