Revision with unchanged content. If two people from India and Germany do business together they may both behave normal as a German or Indian would behave in a certain situation. Prob lems will arise when Indian normality deviates from what is con sidered normal in Germany because both behaviors may not be compatible. The book starts with general information about India that can be used as a basis for un derstanding the Indian cultural standards. The best-known defi nition of culture followed by a detailed explanation will lay the foundations for under stan ding the culture models by Hofstede and Hall. In the second half of the book critical interaction situations between Germans and Indians are exa mi ned utilizing the explained culture models. With each epi sode the reader should gradually develop some understanding for the norms and values of the Indian culture. Practical Dos and Don ts are listed at the end of the book. The aim of this training is to give people a first impres sion of the different cul ture before going to India. This book does not replace in ter cultural trai ning seminars or orientation trips but it should make people sen sitive to the In dian culture and arouse interest for India and its inhabitants and is there fore either considered as an access or a supplement to more com plex in ter cul tural training.
