Turbulences are ubiquitous phenomena which are still not fully understood. Especially the very small vortices namely the Kolmogorov Scales are in focus of many researches but are still hard to measure. The Laser-Doppler-Velocimetry-Profile-Sensor is a newly developed measurement system, which is analyzed and presented. It is an optical measurement method that is developed from the laser doppler velocimetry. In contrast to other measurement systems this sensor allows to measure flows in areas of non-isotropic turbulence. A comparison of hot-wire, Particle Image Velocimetry and Laser-Doppler-Velocimetry-Profile-Sensor measurements permits a validation and delivers new measurement results for the instantaneous velocity measurement in the microscale range. The measurements are realized in a two-dimensional jet to ensure areas of isotropic and non-isotropic turbulence simultaneously and include the measurement of the Kolmogorov Scales, the Taylor Micro Scales, the Integral Scales, the Local Half Width and a Velocity Analysis.
