Individual and Photomontage addresses the conceptual changes regarding individual identity through the history of technological imagery, from photography and its early use as a social control tool to current visual technologies applied to fields as diverse at the medical, artistic, entertainment and military. Individual and Photomontage is, without a doubt, a useful tool for researchers, students and, in general, all professionals involved with image making and interested in gaining a greater understanding of the nature, origin and purpose of graphic tools. In this research work, Daniel Vega carries out a deep, didactic and essentially enjoyable analysis of topics including: history of photography as a tool for social control, the representation of the body in medical imagery, the historical evolution of graphic interfaces and the tense relationship that has always existed between art and science.

Daniel Vega Borrego has a Ph.D. degree in Fine Arts from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid. He has also completed studies at the International Center of Photography of New York and the École National Superieure des Beaux Art in Paris. His research work carries the prestigious recognition of the Fulbright Program.
