According to the World Health Organization there are between 400 and 500 million people suffering from mental disorders in the world and this number is constantly increasing. The rampant growth of psychic disorders in our time it is the resulted not only from stresses and scientific and technical progress with its information overload, but also, from the departure of people from God, and their sinful life. The book "Sin and suffering. Selected lectures on the basics of Orthodox psychotherapy" presents five lectures, namely: "Psychotherapy", "Neuroses", "Main forms of neuroses", "Causes of mental diseases" and "Depression". The lectures were delivered during a period from 2008 to 2013. The book can be useful for clergy, doctors and psychologists, as well as for all those who are interested in the given issues.
