Over the past few decades, international studies on moral purpose and moral leadership increased exponentially. Generally, there is a recognition in these studies that moral purpose is one of the fundamental resources for bringing about the kind of change and improvement that will deliver desirable student learning outcomes in schools. However, only few studies had successfully shed light on the consequences of focusing the school leadership practices upon moral purpose. Researchers and writers in this subject present important questions and problems associated with the enactment of moral purpose, but just as often, they do not provide immediate answers or ways to resolve the issues. Drawing from my study findings and through comprehensive literature review, this book, therefore, presents a practical guide to understanding and enacting moral purpose. This guide serves as a road-map for school leaders seeking school effectiveness and/or improvement in learning outcomes (e.g. examination results). The book is packaged in two parts which together bring a new thought, a new imperative on how school leaders can understand and translate moral purpose into action.
