Due to the difficulty in diagnosis and severity of the disease, esophageal cancer represents a clinical challenge that requires a multidisciplinary approach, coordinating specialist research teams and optimizing knowledge and technology developments ranging from the primary health care to digestive and nuclear medicine departments.
