Paolo Tumminelli, professor at the Cologne International School of Design, wrote and created this book on occasion of the 50th anniversary of ALPINA, a small but impressive automobile manufacturer and partner of BMW in Buchloe, Bavaria. Based on selected BMW models, they build special automobiles for a circle of connoisseurs - "automobile gourmets" - with a fine taste, who appreciate exclusiveness and have a liking for state-of-the-art technology.
The ALPINA world, their brand philosophy and their milestones are presented in every detail: from the first stages of development to today´s car models. The book is about the design and style of ALPINA icons, the company´s history, and ALPINA Racing and its records.
