"Through personal stories about diversity, marginality, injustice, and resilience, we are drawn into the complex lives of those who work with young children. This book is a model of what it means to learn and teach from a position of deep respect for the lived experiences of those around us." (Mara Sapon-Shevin, Syracuse University)
" Voices of Early Childhood Educators should be required reading for all student teachers, not only those who are bound to work with diverse learners and families but perhaps even more importantly, those (few) who still live in relatively homogenous neighborhoods or towns...unaware the demographics of the world are changing." (Ailie Cleghorn, Concordia University, Quebec, Canada)
"This is a heartwarming and wise book. It deserves attention from all teacher educators." (Margie Carter, Co-author, Training Teachers:
A Harvest of Theory and Practice )
