Is it religious dynamism and internal power of the religion which shapes the humans lives? Or this is social pressure and different catastrophes which play a crucial role in the change of people´s beliefs and behaviors. In every society of twenty first century including Japan, people´s lives are shaped exclusively by religion and it plays a significant role on individual and collective levels.Seemingly Japan is not a country where people tend to be religious. However, there are strong evidences which show that in spite of Japanese people´s apparent "indifference" towards the religion, they are religious in many ways as evident in this study. The religiosity in Japanese society was prevalent since the ancient times facing many challenges, accepting and digesting many foreign religious or spiritual themes, has been and also seems that it will most probably remain intact in the future. This research endeavors to present a description and analysis from a religious perspective of the current status of religions (Shinto, Buddhism, Confucianism, Christianity and Islam) in the Japanese society and various factors and forces that have shaped and continue to form the modes of thinking in Japan.
