This introductory textbook accompanies the author´s lecture of "Cost Accounting" for first-year students at Cologne Business School.
This introductory textbook covers the traditional business school subject of cost (or managerial) accounting. Major target group are first-year Bachelor and Master degree students in Europe and particularly in Germany who study business or management in English. In 12 chapters, the essential concepts of cost analysis are highlighted. There are many examples and there is reference to the contemporary business world to better understand the context of cost accounting and the purpose of managerial decision-making it serves. Each chapter is followed by exercises and the respective solutions.
Rundshagen, Volker
Volker Rundshagen is Lecturer for International Business and Tourism at Cologne Business School (CBS), where he has been teaching accounting and tourism-related courses since 2006. His early career stages comprise an apprenticeship and several positions in the tourism industry. In 2001, he completed his MA Tourism Management at the University of Brighton, followed by tourism consultancy assignments in Germany and Switzerland. He received his MBA (part-time) from the University of Louisville, Kentucky in 2007. Volker Rundshagen completed his Doctor of Business Administration in Higher Education Management at the University of Bath in 2016. His research focuses on the sociology of business schools and responsible business and tourism education. He is a member of the Academy of Management.
