Brennende Blumen und Lollipop-Hipster, Glitzerfassaden und Alpentapeten - In der Fotokunst der letzten Jahre hat sich ein neuer Bilderkanon entwickelt, bei dem die Kunst der Übertreibung auf die Glorifizierung des Oberflächlichen trifft. Von Glam Fashion bis zur Naturpoesie, vom Pop-Porträt bis zur ironischen Inszenierung zeigen neue fotografische Positionen eine Vorliebe für alles Opulente, Zuckersüße und Triviale.

Der aufwendig gestaltete Band kommt mit bedrucktem Leineneinband und Silberschnitt ebenso knallig daher wie seine Fotografien. Inspiriert ist er vom ´Bling Bling´ des Hiphop, das für Glitzersteine und die Lust an der Zurschaustellung von Reichtum steht. Die von der Kuratorin und Publizistin Nadine Barth herausgegebene Publikation stellt die wichtigsten Ansätze dieser faszinierenden Richtung vor, die mit Witz und Farbgewalt die Grenzen des Mediums auslotet.

Flaming flowers and lollipop hipsters, glittery fa‡ades and wallpaper Alpsin recent years a new canon of images has been developing in fine arts photography in which the art of exaggeration meets the glorification of the superficial. From glam fashion to the poetry of nature, from the pop portrait to the ironic mise-en-scène, new stances in photography display a preference for anything thats opulent, sugary sweet, and trivial.This elaborately designed volume comes with an embossed hard cover and silver edging thats as gaudy as its photographs. Its inspired by the bling of hip-hop, meaning things such as rhinestones or a desire to show off ones wealth.
