Schritt für Schritt tastet sich dieser Band an freies Spiel in Jazz, Rock und Pop heran. Jedes Kapitel basiert auf einem leichten Musikstück, das mit einer Band auf der Play-Along-CD geübt werden kann. Dazu gibt es kurze Erklärungen, welche Noten beim Improvisieren gut klingen und warum. Beispiel-Solos von erfahrenen Musikern dienen als Vorbild für eigene Versuche.
Das Lehrwerk ist auch im Bandkontext an der Schule oder Musikschule einsetzbar (ab ca. 2 Jahren Instrumentalunterricht).

This volume is a step-by-step approach to improvisation in jazz, rock and pop music. Based on an easy piece which can be practised together with a band on the play-along CD, each chapter comes with brief explanations as to which notes sound best when improvising and why. Solos by experienced musicians serve as examples for the player´s own attempts at improvisation. The textbook can also be used by a band at schools or music schools (for pupils with at least 2 years of instrumental lessons).
