While technology is being used extensively with theory-based coursework, its full potential with hands-on skills is yet to be determined. In this elemental study, massage practitioners with certified skills provide their perceptions about four curriculum prototypes. One traditional, one online and two blended models are evaluated for their fit in massage education. These models consist of entry level coursework on (a)massage practice, (b)massage theory, (c)allied health, and, (d)business, law and ethics. Each course is further being rated individually. Survey results reveal that the most hands-on courses are not favored for online implementation. Practitioners prefer that massage theory courses are left out from the online curriculum planning process, if there is a choice between having them included and not having them included with a blended curriculum. Theory courses in medical law, ethics and business practice are rated as the most fitting for online implementation. If entry level students were to complete coursework in massage theory and massage practice online, research in the future may reveal that participants perceive web based education more favorably for hands-on skills.
