What questions arise in view of the current praxis of baptism - regarding its ritual character, the various expectations of parents and the person to be baptised, or in view of the people who want to be baptised even when they have no affiliation with the church? The book is intended as a guide for pastors, catechists, members of the parish council, and volunteers who are concerned with the legal implications and the organisation of a concrete baptismal praxis. But the texts are also intended for all who are already baptized or want to be baptized as an invitation to reflect on the meaning of baptism for life.
