Regional development programs have a predominant character of " the Amazon development" instead of "development for the Amazon ." The successive changes of " development plans " , depending on political and economic situations , contribuiíram pasra bankruptcy of most settlement projects . An exclusive model in the effort to choose an image that is revealing of the current border environment I would say this is the " exclusion" . A " productivist " model - after twenty years is that the agribusiness , especially in Mato Grosso , knows the strongest growth , driven by the need to earn foreign exchange to Brazil pasrtir of exportable products such as soybeans . Deforestation and intensive fragmentation of the Amazon rainforest .
