Obwohl seine raumdurchdringenden Skulpturen und Installationen meist aus mathematischen Überlegungen, Konstruktionszeichnungen und Modellen hervorgehen, ist Jürg Stäuble (geb. 1948 in Wohlen, Schweiz) kein konstruktiver Künstler im gängigen Sinne. Für ihn ist Geometrie mehr Ausgangspunkt als Ziel und doch folgen seine Arbeiten präzisen Spielregeln. Basierend auf Sechseck- oder Kreisstrukturen sowie auf Ordnungssystemen wie Reihung, Verschiebung, Schichtung und Durchdringung fragen sie nach den Eigenschaften des Raumes und seiner Wahrnehmung. So sind seine künstlerischen Interventionen in der deutschsprachigen Schweiz auch häufig am Bau und im öffentlichen Raum anzutreffen. Die vorliegende Publikation würdigt das rund 50-jährige Schaffen des Schweizer Künstlers im Umfeld von Minimal Art, Land Art und Konzeptkunst und erscheint zu der Einzelausstellung im Museum Haus Konstruktiv.

Even though his three-dimensional sculptures and installations usually arise from mathematical ideas, construction drawings, and models, Jürg Stäuble ( 1948 in Wohlen, Switzerland) is not a constructivist artist in the usual sense. For him, geometry is more a starting point than the goal, even though his works follow precise rules of play. Based on six-sided or circular structures, as well as on systems of order such as sequencing, displacement, layering, and interpenetration, the sculptures question the characteristics of space and its perception. Thus, his artistic interventions in the German-speaking parts of Switzerland often take place in architectural or public settings. This publication honors the Swiss artists approximately fifty years of creativity in the fields of Minimal Art, Land Art, and Conceptual Art, and will be released in conjunction with the solo exhibition at the Museum Haus Konstruktiv.Exhibition: 1.6.3.9. 2017, Museum Haus Konstruktiv
