The concept of the function of Endogenous Retroviruses ERVs and transposons on the host genomes as immune functional units, and their relationship with the hostsī immune systems.
The book describes the concept of the function of Endogenous Retroviruses ERVs and transposons on the host genomes as immune functional units, their relationship with the hostsī immune systems and their effect on the host in form of autoimmune diseases, cancer, plaque building diseases and ageing.
The biological principle of innate immunity Pii describes a natural law of innate immunity, that the large part of repeats on the human and animal genomes as endogenous retroviruses ERVs and transposons and others, form part of the hostīs immune system. ERVs and transposons on the hostīs genome are not intended for virus replication or viral mimicry. Endogenous Retroviruses ERVs, retrotransposons, and various different types of repeats on the host genome are immune functioning registries. These registries are not parasitic but rather integrated by the hostīs immune system and likely on behalf of and utilized by the hostīs immune cells.
Hammen, Volker
Dr. Volker Hammen studied agricultural science at the Humboldt-University to Berlin with a PhD in online-sensory technology. Thereafter, he worked as bioinformatician at the Charite, the university-hospital of the Humboldt-University to Berlin, the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research and the university-hospital rechts der Isar of the Technical University Munich. Emphasis of his work is the bioinformatic functional analysis and the recognition and understanding of complex functions of non-coding parts of genomes. Area of expertise is the understanding of the function of Endogenous Retroviruses ERVs and transposons, and their relationship with hostsī immune system and their effect on the host in form of autoimmune diseases, cancer, plaque building diseases and ageing.
