Auf internationaler und auf nationaler Ebene schreitet die Digitalisierung in allen Lebensbereichen unaufhaltsam voran. Zunehmend wird auch von der Justiz ein Angebot an digitalen Leistungen für Bürger und Wirtschaft erwartet. Ein Vorantreiben der Digitalisierung in der Justiz ist erforderlich, um mit den Anforderungen Schritt zu halten. Der unabdingbare Einsatz von IKT ist in der österreichischen Justiz seit mittlerweile 40 Jahren weit über die nationalen Grenzen hin anerkannt. In europäischen Projekten fungiert die österreichische Justiz als verlässliche Partnerin und gestaltet die europäische e-Justiz aktiv mit.

Both at international and national level, the digitization of all areas of life continues to progress. The judiciary is expected to provide an increasing number of digital services to citizens and the economy. The digitization in the justice system needs to be pressed ahead with to keep up with the current requirements. The indispensible use of ICT in the Austrian judiciary over 40 years has been recognized well beyond the national borders. The Austrian judicial system acts as a reliable partner for projects and actively contributes to the shaping of the European e-Justice.
