Facial lacerations are very common presentation in accident and emergency department worldwide. Plastic surgeons strive for best cosmetic outcome as patients and parents of young children are very much worried about scar. Various methods are used worldwide to repair lacerations on face but suturing is still the most commonly used method with good results. Accident and emergency department in a tertiary care hospital is a very busy department and deal with patients of all specialties. In such situation when workload is more and time is very important, techniques should be simple, less time consuming with good result. I did my work on single layer closure of facial laceration with intention to provide good cosmetic results with simple and less time consuming method. This is especially important in developing countries where hospitals have more workload than resources.I am working as consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Patel Hospital Karachi Pakistan. I have got my plastic surgery training from Liaquat National hospital Karachi and got plastic surgery degree from college of physician and surgeon Pakistan.
