A novel idea is that there is an alternative pathway for the generation of new types of innate T cells, which are totally different from previously recognized ones. These cells include natural Th1 cells and Eomes+ innate CD8 T cells. This idea was confirmed both by in vitro and truely in vivo settings. Seong Hoe Park is a Korean immunologist and pathologist and currently a distinguished professor of Seoul National University College of Medicine. Throughout his career as a T cell immunologist, Park established the theory of T cell-T cell interaction in human thymus, in which T cells expressing MHC class II drive innate T cells.
