Kahawa Shamba community based tourism enterprise was once a tremendous tale to a beautiful CBT enterprise in Tanzania. Despite its unique form of tourism (coffee production and coffee testing tours) the CBT thrived as local community members felt owning the CBT which ensured community members active participation and involvement in the project. This book explores the current status of the CBT linking community participation and the perceived impacts the community based tourism has to the local community. In general, local community members want to see decisions about tourism development in their area are made jointly by the management and local leaders in direct consultation with the local Community members. It is only then community based tourism principles will be adhered to.
