This book explores queerness in the context of changing economic, intellectual, sexual, and school terrains. Greteman proposes the concept queer thriving to imagine how queers might develop in-contestation to becoming normalized. This work and the work of queer thriving challenge various norms that have evolved over the course of queer theory´s history. To read queer thriving into the world takes the reader into investigations of the child, the seminar classroom, queer cultures, the history of AIDS, and emerging discourses on barebacking and PrEP.
