Elfie Semotan zählt zu den wichtigsten Fotografinnen der Gegenwart und revolutionierte mit ihrem Werk die Mode- und Werbefotografie seit den 1960er-Jahren. ELFIE SEMOTAN ( 1941, Wels, Österreich) studierte an der Modeschule und arbeitete als Model, bevor sie als Mode-, Werbe- und Porträtfotografin tätig wurde. Mit Martin Kippenberger arbeitete sie u.a. an der Werkreihe Floß der Medusa. Sie lebt in New York, Wien und Jennersdorf.
