This theoretical study aims to analyze and integrate the abundant amount of data on adolescent bereavement experiences, mainly addressing how unresolved grief affects the teenager´s development and emotional wellbeing. The study is theoretical and involves a comprehensive review of the literature to determine the effects of peer loss. It includes a hermeneutic interpretation to verify adolescents´ traumatic experiences and grief reactions. The study explores different models and theories of grief, as well as observes how attachment orientations and emotions are interfering with adolescents´ grief processes.
