What interests us in this 21st century by doing this work, is to lift the veil on the history of the Agoodjié, commonly called "Amazons," and to encour-age female leadership in the different fields of activi-ties in the world. The story tells of the bravery of this iron lady who was also a great artist, hence the name Hangbè ("the sweet voice"). It is important to recognize that the reign of Queen Tassi Hangbé has also been the subject of controversy, as the system of governance of the kingdom of Danxomè is patriarchal. Nevertheless, it has marked history through a rich liv-ing heritage, through its policy of good governance and reforms in the kingdom of Danxomè, the current historic capital of the Republic of Benin. Sename Nelly, DenakpoBorn on September 22, 1978 in Bohicon, Nelly DENAKPO is one of the few young Beninese. She is known for her work on amazons but she is also known as an amazon. She has also written many books on the history of Amazons Dahomey (Benin) in the context of the reappropriation of the values of the amazons.
