Professor Gomes Filipe´s book, offers a breakthrough in the field of the Hitchcock studies, where traditional academic theories seem to have exhausted their capabilities. Hitchcock´s unique understanding of the role of emotions to control the audiences, together with the fact that the study of consciousness is now gaining in popularity in neuroscience labs around the world, are among the factors that give a new momentum and impact to his approach. Filipe, Rafael G.
Rafael Gomes Filipe received a bachelor´s degree in Philosophy from the Classical University of Lisbon and a doctoral degree in the area of Cultural Studies from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He has done academic research on Nietzsche and Max Weber, sociology of communication (Irving Goffmann and Niklas Luhmann), rhetoric and critical thinking.
