The purpose of this essay is to solve the hard applying problems caused by the closet scheduling theory. Although scheduling management is equally important in academic world and industries, the theory is too ideal to implement entirely. Plastics manufacturing was once a major industry of Taiwan, but the competence of it was declining deeply by higher and higher labor cost. To survive, some of the factories tried to cut costs by improving the efficiencies of production while others moved to the lower labor cost countries. Therefore, the proper scheduling is one method to help factories ameliorate the efficiencies. To alleviate the problem mentioned before, this study uses Film as the example, dividing scheduling issues into Job Shop, Single Machine, and Sequences Dependent, applying the concept of Group Technology, and eventually obtaining the best results of scheduling by experimental design. However, the mission of this study is to help industries minimize the makespan and cost ultimately.
Ching-Tsung Wang had taken office of Formosa Plastics Group President Office for eighteen years, being responsible for setting up the system of the production management and many special case improvement work impetus. His practical business experience is rich.
