In the developing countries of the world, rural households are generally characterized with poverty. This has overtime impinged on their Agricultural and other livelihood activities. Major factor that have contributed to rural household poverty is inadequate banking services and ignorance of rural dwellers to facilities available in financial institutions. This is becoming a vital issue in countries like Nigeria, where matters of national development is on the mind of everybody and there is existence of very little academic literature on behaviour of rural households towards banking systems. This book therefore provides a timely insight to the banking behaviour in the rural areas and factors that influence choice of banking systems employed by rural households in order to live a better life. An academic research was conducted on rural households and analyzed to elucidate the concept of banking behaviour in rural areas. The outcome of this investigation as reported in this book should help in shedding some light on this issue which will be useful for policy makers, rural sociologists and other stakeholders in Agriculture and related fields for holistic development.
