Carol A. believes that for herself, and for others, doing good comes from God. Charlotte finds the coming together to do good as connecting us, one to the other. Why people do good and where this urge, perhaps even "passion" to do so, comes from are two of several questions for which the author sought answers in the development of this theme. Herein, she asserts that there is no one universal answer to the "why people do good" question. Rather, there are various personal and meaningful answers that people find for themselves as they discuss and reflect upon their individual and distinctive motivations. "Why People Do Good" is also a reflection on community and on our very nature, perhaps our chemistry, that reinforces "doing good" behaviors.
