In this era of globalisation, the economics across the globe are in constant strive for economic development and are reshaping their policies accordingly. Inspired by the exemplifying performance of China, India too was lured to adopt the same policy paradigm. As SEZ was given the shape of an Act and became an integral part of the Indian economic policy, debates also ranged high about the viability of its benefits. Acquisition of land is a must requirement for SEZ and in an agricultural country like India, it created a great hue and cry from all the groups. Debates ranged high among the Economists and social thinkers arousing intense passion from both the groups. Under this conjuncture, it is imperative to take into consideration views of the people who are affected by the SEZ and losing their land which has been completely overlooked. This book highlights the apprehensions, the abstract changes that the people perceive the SEZ will bring in their lives. The study makes a sincere attempt to highlight the ways in which SEZ can bring about an inclusive growth in a democratic country like India and thus aid in the development process.
