Learner-centered characteristics of educators is important to the design of learning environments that will yield positive outcomes. The balance of power, role of teacher, responsibility of learner, and philosophy of evaluation are critical elements to creation of learner-centered environments. This qualitative study allows the voices of nurse educators to define the characteristics that support learner-centeredness. Findings give us insights to the qualities that should be encouraged among existing and future nurse educators.
