There are profound changes taking place in the education system internationally. These involve the nature of the curriculum, the organization and management of schools, the nature of educators contracts and parent involvement in the education process. International studies show that parent involvement has a direct impact on learner performance. Educational institutions need to develop a more effective practice in parent involvement. This book examines the sharply observed realities of the school gate, the corridor and the classroom, to the voices of parents and their experiences. In order to develop a more effective practice in parent involvement, educational authorities should provide a framework and process through which the concerns of hard pressed teachers and the anxieties and frustrations of parents can be examined in a critical but constructive way.
