Research studies the main areas of exchange students life in general, but it is shown in the focus of students in Estonia, university of Tartu. It concentrates on the image that the students get from Estonians and Estonia when they are actually part of the inside group themselves. It is interesting to see the different strategies used to integrate to the hosting society and various problems that come across along their paths. Thesis gives good ideas of how to make local contacts faster and more efficiently when being an exchange student or a mobile person overall.

I have been a part of exchange student family since I was 18. From that time Ive lived in three foreign countries that, with a lot of time and effort, became my own. Now I can say that Belgium, USA and Czech Republic are as much welcoming as Estonia itself.
