Statistics and Mathematics underpin almost every aspect of today´s society. Whether is is technology, business, science, social science or education, statistics and mathematics are used. The importance of statistcs stems from its usefulness. It is concerned with collection and analysis of data in order to obtain a better understanding phenomena and its methods have really proved relevant to a very wide range of subjects. I admit that there are a lot of materials in this field that are already in the market but I am sure, the approach I have used to solving problems in this text, step by step and sometimes interpreting the results, will make this text book different from some other books in statistics. Examples are included immediately after chapter introduction to give readers a practice. However, I have decided to put some few exercises at the end of each chapter. I hope the text book will be user friend to all interested readers.

Bahati Ilembo is currently an Assistant Lecturer at Mzumbe University Tanzania, he holds BA and MA degrees both in Statistics. He is teaching Statistics and Quantitative Methods subjects to undergraduate students. His areas of research interest are Operations Research and Time Series Analysis.
