The primary goal of this book is to advance understanding of the European integration of the former SFRJ republics, Croatia and Montenegro. This volume does not propose a new integration theory and it goes beyond the classic analysis of how policies are made in Brussels . Instead, it raises many questions about the eastern enlargement. What does Europeanization of the Balkan region really mean? Does the EU need the Balkans just the way it is? What do the main theories of constructivism and geopolitics have to say about the enlargement to the Western Balkans? What factors drive the enlargement to this realm? This book represents a credible analytical and empirical work relating to these concepts, and should be useful to those interested in the study of political trends in the Balkan region.
Ana Radovic was born in Podgorica, Montenegro. She got a Bachelor`s degree in political science from Florida Atlantic University in 2006. Shortly after she received a Master`s degree in East European Research and Studies from the University of Bologna. Her current research revolves around the nationalism in the Balkans.
