Alcohol problems have remained a major public health problem, affecting about 10% to 12% of the world population. Over the last 20 years, the scientific literature has emphasized the importance of developing studies on the women drug dependence, since it has been pointed out a shortage of empirical studies on this theme, an increase in the number of alcohol dependent women, and the inefficiency of treatments which disregard the specificity of female psychic and psychological constitutions. This book contributes to fill out the blanks of the studies on female alcoholism, as long as it presents to the readers, in a didactic and synthetic way, the results of a study carried out with 15 alcohol dependent women, by means of the Rorschach test and the discourse analysis. The theoretical-methodological integration used in this investigation propitiates a dialogue between different knowledge fields, such as psychiatry, psychology and psychoanalysis. It is about a detailed research which reveals the importance of the phantasmic construction to the symptoms production and the relevance of a psychodiagnostic to the treatment guidance.
