This publication investigated the experience of people involved in or had been involved in interracial relationships. It explores the nature of the concerns that are expressed about interracial relationships as well as the reactions, views and attitudes others have towards such relationship. Based on evidence from a small sample, (interviewing 20 black men and 20 white women), this publication focuses on the explanations that are often put forward by others to explain the motivation of those involved in such relationships. Amongst other findings, it emerged that people involved in the relationship manage their experiences by developing strategies that enables them to deals with the reactions of others. It found that the strategies includes: DISTANCING themselves from ´others´, SELECTIVE REVELATION; MUTUAL SUPPORT; AVOIDANCE of situations; MINIMISATION of social contacts and REINFORCING. An engaging publication that would be of interests to practitioners, academics, students and lay readers.
