Interagency integration and information sharing are clearly high priority goals for governments to provide better services to their citizens. The ability of local government agencies to effectively utilize technologies to share information with state agencies constitutes a critical element in nationwide information sharing efforts. This book provides a theoretical discussion and an empirical investigation of the factors that influence local agency electronic information sharing with state agencies. The study leverages a two-staged research design, which includes an in-depth case study and a survey. Based on the findings, an extensive set of recommendations that can be utilized to improve the success of interagency information sharing initiatives is put forth. The findings are important and relevant to government agencies, the directors and IT managers of these agencies, policy-makers, nongovernmental agencies, service providers, and researchers.
